Lunar Lander Challenged

One small step for NASA, One giant leap for the X Prize

New attraction for X Prize Cup

X Prize Foundation’s new website says Anousheh Ansari will appear at X Prize Cup, fresh back from her own personal spaceflight expedition to ISS.

No official news yet on what teams will compete for Lunar Lander Challenge, and the Lunar Lander Challenge X Prize does not appear on the foundation’s list of current X Prizes.

But don’t worry, it must still eXist because it’s still mentioned on the list of attractions and live webcast schedule at X Prize Cup.

  1. I just started a blog on space prizes (http://spaceprizes.blogspot.com). I’m not going to cover the Lunar Lander Challenge since this blog already exists. This is where I get my Lunar Lander Challenge updates. The space prize blog will be a lot more general, probably with a mixture of current events, recent and old history, very very dry academic viewpoints, politics, fiction … whatever comes to mind in the area of space prizes.

On the Lunar Lander Challenge listings, I can only speculate that they aren’t counting it because it’s funded by NASA. I think they are just listing the prizes that are (were, will hopefully be) funded by the X Prize Foundation.

  2. Hi Red/Ray — nice start at your new Space Prizes blog.

How about Win a VIP Trip to X Prize Cup — a space prize that can be won by mere mortals/non-rocket scientists?

Not sure about your theory on why Lunar Lander Challenge was omitted from the list of current X Prizes and not mentioned on the new website. Maybe X Prize eXpects all the prize money to be won in a few weeks and doesn’t want to update the website again anytime soon.
